Hancock Town Library Juneteenth Reflection
What happened on June 19, 1865? Why is June 19th now a federal holiday? We invite you to join us as we learn about the history of Juneteenth. We will also spend some time talking about books we have read centering on African-American history. Books that have taught us, inspired us, or touched us in some way. We have many titles here if you’d like to try something new. Just ask us at the front desk. All are welcome to participate and if you’d like to let us know which book you’ll be briefly (5 minutes max!) talking about please email Amy at hancocklibrary@comcast.netand put Juneteenth in the subject line. All are welcome! Refreshments will be served.
Film Screening – Billy Preston: The Way God Planned It

Film Screening – Arco
Join us for a magical and beautifully animated journey through time, Arco is a dazzling adventure about a 10-year-old boy from a peaceful, distant future who accidentally travels back to the year 2075 and discovers a world in peril. The film debuted at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and won The Cristal Award for Best Feature Film at the 2025 Annecy Awards.
Hartford/Bethel/Lebanon Juneteenth Celebration
The Sixth Annual Hartford/Lebanon/Bethel Juneteenth Celebration promises to once again bring the Upper Valley community together for an afternoon of unity, reflection, and celebration on Saturday, June 20, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Lyman Point Park in White River Junction. Hosted by Vermont State Senator Joe Major, the free event honors the legacy of Juneteenth while celebrating the values of freedom, equality, and community through music, fellowship, education, and family-friendly activities.
