Who We Are

The New Hampshire Collective Power Coalition brings together organizations and individuals rooted in BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Disability communities and justice movements. Our coalition exists to deepen solidarity, strengthen community care, and act collectively at the intersections of oppression and possibility.

The coalition began in Spring 2025 after several local groups rallied to support Mamadou Dembele after he experienced a racist attack in Portsmouth, NH in 2023. The coalition has recently worked to advocate for Nickenley Turenne and his family after he was killed by Manchester Police in December 2025.

During our initial first convenings, the coalition identified a number of key issues affecting our communities and refined them into these 3 priorities:

Coalition Priorities

Priority 01

    • Invest – use our economic power

    • Tackle root causes of discrimination 

    • Actively engage & encourage others to participate civically/politically

    • Education & leadership development

    • Information & resource sharing

Priority 02

    • Collaboration is necessary for resistance, survival, & wellbeing

    • Frequent, consistent meetings & focused subgroups

    • Communication, trust-building, transparency in our communities

    • Collaborate together & share access to grow our strength & expand our reach.

    • Develop strategic communication systems

    • Identify the needs of people in urban and rural New Hampshire.

Priority 03

    • Share information & ideas on self-care

    • Increase direct communication with members

    • Talk to each other about mental health

    • Circulate + share events

    • Encourage family + friendship + connection

    • Utilize music, singing, dancing, and the arts as powerful community/humanity builders

    • Host millennials/youth of color convenings

    • Create more opportunities for connection and shared spaces.
