Grants & Sponsorship Program
The New Hampshire Center for Justice & Equity’s Grant and Sponsorship program provides responsive micro-grants and sponsorship opportunities that align with NHCJE’s Mission, Vision, & Values, as well as our Policy Platform and Six Sectors of Effort, by investing in organizations and initiatives that are authentically connected to their communities, helping strengthen our community’s connective tissue, collective power, and resilience.

Through these Six Sectors of Effort, we support communities and initiatives working to elevate and empower New Hampshire’s BIPOC, Queer, and Disability communities by fostering connections, changing systems, and meeting community needs to make a better Granite State where all belong.

In reviewing sponsorship applications, NHCJE reserves the right to prioritize applications that correspond to program pillars or sectors of effort it has identified as priorities at that time.

Policy happens for people who participate, so NHCJE will focus on efforts to strengthen voting rights.

Communities of color have disproportionate negative health outcomes, so NHCJE will focus on efforts to eliminate racial health disparities.

Equity in public education means all voices can be heard, all perspectives can be shared, and all abilities can be met, so NHCJE will focus on efforts to foster belonging in education.

Racial disparity in the criminal justice system is well documented in the United States, and New Hampshire mirrors many of those issues. T0 improve this, NHCJE will focus 0n addressing the disparate impacts of the criminal justice and legal system.

Program Requirements
01. Eligibility
To be considered for funding, your organization or initiative must fulfill the following core conditions:

Must be a registered 501(c)(3) or a fiscally sponsored program or initiative of a 501(c)(3) organization (backed by an official IRS Determination Letter).

Must serve communities within New Hampshire
-
Must not receive more than one financial award from NHCJE in a 12-month period.

Applicants must submit all required documents and elements (Name/Address, Type, EIN, IRS Letter, Description, Mission, Contact, Statement of Need, and Budget) during the application process.
02. Purpose & Alignment
Our funding prioritizes organizations or initiatives that meet the following criterion:

Does the initiative specifically work to elevate and empower NH’s BIPOC, Queer, and/or Disability communities?

Is the applicant/initiative authentically connected to the local community it seeks to serve?

Does the application demonstrate a compelling, immediate, or responsive local need aligned with NHCJE’s mission, vision, & values?
-
Does the project explicitly align with at least one of NHCJE’s Six Sectors of Effort and its defined operating focus?
NHCJE reserves the right to reject any application and refuse participation in our Grants and Sponsorship Program should an organization or its initiatives be deemed contrary to NHCJE’s tax-exempt status, mission, vision, principles, and/or values.

Eligibility Review: Ensure your materials are complete and meets all eligibility requirements.
Materials Review: Materials are reviewed by NHCJE staff and scored within 5 working days.
Decision: Disposition and applicants will be notified electronically within 7 working days.

Awards range from $250 - $1,000.
One of the factors your application will be assessed on is whether or not the proposed initiative falls within the program’s micro-grant and sponsorship threshold.
