Josephine Porter Joins the NH Center for Justice & Equity
Manchester, NH --The New Hampshire Center for Justice and Equity has announced that Josephine (Jo) Porter, MPH, is joining the team as Strategic Advisor.
According to Anthony Poore, President, and CEO, “Jo brings many years of leadership, health and social service project and development, and management experience to NHCJE. Jo has personal and professional experience on issues of health equity, and her passion for these issues is an enormous asset to the organization.”
Porter is currently the Director of the Institute for Health Policy and Practice at the University of New Hampshire, where she’s been the Director for seven years and has been with IHPP since 2007. She also brings private sector experience, including program management with Health Dialog, Inc., a care management firm.
Porter previously served as the Associate Director of the New Hampshire Health Information Center at UNH and was the NH Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System state coordinator for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
Porter will help lead the NH Center’s policy and program efforts, including working with local, regional, and national partners.
The N.H. Center for Justice and Equity is a newly formed non-profit focused on advancing issues of racial, economic justice, and health equity in New Hampshire. The N.H. Center for Justice & Equity fosters collaboration and greater dialogue among Granite Staters, including those in leadership positions, to find actionable solutions to systemic racism and longstanding inequities. The organization launched in late September 2022.
The New Hampshire Center for Justice & Equity will focus on New Hampshire’s communities of color and similarly marginalized communities, acting as a Convener across various stakeholders and sectors, building relationships and power.
