Catherine Kabala and Jason Bonilla's personal experiences and unwavering dedication align perfectly with NHCJE's mission to foster equity, justice, and empowerment for all communities across New Hampshire. The organization envisions a vibrant and flourishing New Hampshire where all individuals, regardless of their background, can thrive and contribute to the collective well-being.

With a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University and a career marked by an exceptional commitment to underserved communities, Catherine Kabala brings a demonstrated passion for empowering others. As a licensed psychotherapist, and Student Assistance Program (SAP) counselor at Manchester Central High School, she’s dedicated to providing optimal opportunities for students and has led to the creation of essential positions and programs within organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester, the City of Manchester, and the Manchester School District. Her most recent contribution to the Manchester School District includes creating the first in-school student Wellness Room and Student Advocacy Committee. Catherine's extensive knowledge in adolescent counseling equips her to empower those affected by trauma, discrimination, and mental health concerns.

"I look forward to collaborating with the New Hampshire Center for Justice and Equity and with people who share the vision of a just and more inclusive society. Together we will work towards fostering positive change in New Hampshire and ensuring equity and well-being for all," said Catherine Kabala.

Jason Bonilla, whose parents embarked on a journey by foot from El Salvador in pursuit of a better life in the US, brings a deep-rooted understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized communities. His dedication to uplifting youth and advocating for racial equity is exemplified by his service with AmeriCorps and CityYear, co-founding the NH Millennials of Color, and his position on the Manchester School District's Board of School Committee. Jason's commitment to the community has led him to form meaningful connections with mentors and friends from diverse backgrounds and identities, highlighting the importance of recognizing the political dimension of his own identity. Jason's journey led him to the Equity Leader Fellowship, where he honed his skills as a changemaker.

"I believe that the pursuit of racial equity is a fundamental part of my identity, and I am committed to working alongside fellow leaders at the New Hampshire Center for Justice and Equity to ensure that all voices are heard and represented toward a more equitable society," said Jason Bonilla.

Both Catherine and Jason join NHCJE's Board, which consists of leaders from various sectors, reflecting a wide range of professional expertise, age, race, ethnicity, identity, and geography. As members of the Board, they will contribute to strategic planning, ensure strong fiduciary oversight, enhance the organization's public image, and uphold legal and ethical integrity.

"We are thrilled to welcome Catherine Kabala and Jason Bonilla to the New Hampshire Center for Justice & Equity Board," said Dwight Davis, NHCJE Board Chair. "Their unique experiences and dedication to equity and justice will undoubtedly enrich our efforts to make New Hampshire a more equitable and inclusive place where all belong."

The addition of Catherine Kabala and Jason Bonilla marks a significant step forward in NHCJE's journey to create lasting change within the state. Their voices, perspectives, and passion for justice will play an instrumental role in driving the organization's mission to new heights.
